The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Public Market Business Director for 3M’s Health Information Systems Division (HISD), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Providing federal government healthcare expert advice to HISD executive leadership on current healthcare direction, policy, and customer requirements that impact HISD services and product development.
Leading and promoting federal government business development opportunities and serving as an advocate for 3M HISD products within federal government spaces.
Leading operational excellence in business development, revenue cycle medical coding SW programs, promoting clinical documentation program, pipeline management, budget planning and execution management, and business capture activities to include all related program management activities.
Developing customer-focused trusting relationships with federal government leaders, program managers, and the functional users to understand their requirements and to develop 3M HISD unique solutions.
Leading direct reports who are responsible for contributing specific professional skills in a highly integrated and collaborative manner to provide a uniquely independent “Full Response Capability” for achieving Federal Government business growth objectives
Public Markets team member skills include: Business Development, Program/Project Management, Contract Administration, Subcontract and Government Compliance, Proposal Management, Clinical Change Management/Training, Legal, Technical Engineering, and Department Budget Control Operations
Directly accountable customer satisfaction for cost, schedule, and performance of each federal contract, including managerial oversight and coordination across entire life-cycle.
Responsible for identification, assessment, and execution of strategic alliances with external firms to expand and improve Public Markets’ competitive pursuit and performance capabilities in new business opportunities.
Direct judicious tactical guidance in the design and development of composite-product solutions offering greater customer value.
Ensure the team members’ understanding and full compliance with complex and stringent federal government acquisition requirements to avoid contractual/performance deficiencies that would negatively impact overall 3M business.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of (16) years of experience in federal health care management in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree education requirement
Twelve (12) years active military or Government Service employee experience within the DoD or VA
Ten (10) years of experience providing written and oral operational/business status briefings to senior Executives
Seven (7) years health care project management experience involving analysis of electronic health records data, performance improvement, quality of care assessment and providing policy implementation.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Senior staff experience at a Joint or Service Headquarter or other federal agency headquarters
Master’s degree in healthcare administration
Diplomat or Member of American College of Healthcare Executives
Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary professional teams responding to urgent business operations needs
Demonstrated record of improving and growing healthcare operations year over year
Location: Remote
Travel: May include up to 40 % domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
