Project Controls Specialist
Description
Reports to: GPC CCR Project Controls Manager
Location: 241 Ralph McGill, Atlanta, GA - GPC Corporate Office
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities for this position include performing cost analysis and oversight for assigned projects as well as the development and oversight of project summaries to support the CCR Program portfolio reporting. Some of the job responsibilities in this position include:
Provide cost oversight and analysis for GPC CCR ARO projects
Drive consistency with cost tracking, forecasting, risk, and change control processes across the portfolio
Assist in detailed monitoring and analysis of project forecast and actuals
Perform portfolio level reporting and lead ongoing reporting enhancements
Effectively partner with the GPC CCR Team on developing and implementing strategic program initiatives
Support preparation of PSC communications and semi-annual reporting requirements
Liaison with GPC Property Accounting to ensure the program meets all accounting requirements
Provide contracting support and oversight as needed
Support internal and external audit requests
This position must establish and maintain a close working relationship with many stakeholders at Georgia Power and SCS
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, engineering, or related field
Advanced degree a plus
Experience
3- 5 years of experience in cost management on a variety of projects in the utility industry
Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, risk, and change control processes
Experience working in a strategic, analytical, and collaborative environment required
Experience in developing strategically oriented materials for various levels in the organization
Experience using Power Plan, Maximo, Oracle, or other associated cost tracking tools required
Experience with regulatory communications or filings a plus
Experience with construction, remediation, decommissioning, or similar projects a plus
Experience with analyzing schedule trends a plus
Knowledge
Knowledge of key financial, accounting, and project controls principles
Knowledge of accounting, finance, and supply chain processes and the systems used in support of those groups
Knowledge of how to analyze project estimates, forecasts, cash flows, risk identification, and change control processes
Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications required
Skills
Must excel at analyzing large amounts of data and identifying trends
Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail
Must operate effectively in a highly collaborative and matrix environment
Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with a wide variety of teammates
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for communicating and with a wide variety of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a wide variety projects with competing deadlines
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple assignments.
Ability to professionally bring challenge and influence to others
Ability to adapt to uncertain and changing requirements
Strong emphasis on providing high level of customer service and engagement with GPC CCR Team, AFT, SCS, Generation, and other key stakeholders
