Reporting & Analysis - 60%

  • Focus priorities on high-risk transactions and a nalyze, review and report on trends for non-compliant activities to reduce financial losses.

  • Responsible for validating, auditing and analyzing transactions for Ecommerce and Stores and independently owns research and adjusts transactional out of balances on daily basis. Implements solutions for root cause errors for long term improvements.

  • Research data trends at the region, district and store levels, working with Operations and Asset Protection to develop and improve current processes and procedures within our Retail business. Emphasis will be placed on providing recommendations and full implementation of solutions for overall business improvements.

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating KPI metric reports. Track, analyze and interpret trends in data in order to provide relevant conclusions and recommendations to management. Significant emphasis will be placed on independent ownership and delivery of metric improvements by partnering with internal and external business partners to drive process efficiencies.

  • Responsible for all ad hoc analysis requested by the business. Ad hoc requests are frequent and must be completed timely and accurately.

  • Run, analyze, and report on deferred revenue balance pertaining to Company’s enterprise selling transactions.

Accounting - 25%

  • Support the fiscal closing calendar timelines for assigned tasks.

  • Monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue balance between Sales Audit, OMS, and the general ledger.

  • Lead the quarterly Deferred Revenue clean-up and reconciliation activities.

  • Reconciliation of in-store register and safe funds and booking of related journal entries.

  • Reconciliation of in-store payroll advances and booking of related journal entries.

  • Responsible for supporting the Carter’s Retail donation programs from an accounting and payment perspective.

  • Review and provide explanations for variances.

  • Partnership with Operations, IT, Marketing, Call Center, Consumer Affairs, Accounts Payable, and Corporate Accounting.

Technical - 15%

  • Involved in testing various fixes and upgrades to the Sales Audit system and provide recommendations on areas for improvement to drive audit efficiencies.

  • Partner with IT to proactively drive improvements in system performance to support data analysis.

  • Problem solve and implement solutions for improvements in business processes.


  • Serve as a backup and support to other areas in finance and/or internal business partners.

Required Experience:

  • Strong problem solving and highly analytical with proven ability to proactively leverage data to improve the business operations.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel and general computer skills.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and effectively achieves team goals a must.

  • Strong ability to multi-task.

  • Excellent team player who works well in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking with strong attention to detail.

  • BBA or BS degree from accredited 4 year institution.

  • Intermediate-level experience in Excel.

  • SQL Certification Preferred.

  • At least two years finance experience and analyzing large sets of data.
