JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Sr. Mine Engineer will execute day-to-day administrative and technical supervision of a small team of our engineers and technicians within a unit of an engineering department. We seek a professional who will take technical responsibility for our team's results and effectiveness of its integration with other units.
Review feasibility of proposed solutions to engineering problems, personally helping solve difficult technical problems.
Handle personnel activities, including performance reviews and salary recommendations, and coordinate training and development.
Plan and schedule work assignments, reviewing work in progress.
Supervise a small team of our professional engineers and technicians to accomplish specific engineering projects.
You will lead and develop a team, exhibiting authority for talent management decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of four years of Engineering experience
Two years of supervisory experience
Underground mining experience
Experienced in rock mechanics, mine design, hoisting systems, mine ventilation and field instrumentation
Experience with Reliability Excellence concepts, Kaizen Events, 5S and lean Six Sigma.
