Alexion Pharmaceuticals Assoc Dir, Global Training & Development in Boston, Massachusetts
The Associate Director, US Sales Training & Development, will serve a critical need within Alexion’s Commercial organization in developing and insuring that all training content is consistent with the latest commercial strategy and clinical developments. The Associate Director, Global Training & Development, will report to the Director, Global Training and Development. Qualified candidates should expect to lead the updates for Global training content and the development of a role specific training platform covering aHUS and PNH, and future indications.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and deliver PNH, aHUS,curriculums in conjunction with the Therapeutic Area teams
Manage external training vendors in the creation of training content
Create and execute role specific training for the US commercial organization Create and execute selling skills content training for the US field sales teams
Execute Clinical Excellence training for the US commercial leadership team
Update new-hire and advanced training resources for US field sales organization and internal commercial teams
Conduct new-hire and ongoing training classes for Regional Account Managers (RAMs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and other internal Alexion staff
Add creative value to the training team based on career experiences in sales training & leadership
Work collaboratively with field-based trainers and management team to coordinate delivery of Alexion’s training program for new hires in field sales organization and internal commercial teams, including the expansion of the field mentor program for
Coordinate and manage execution of twice yearly national meetings
Conduct field rides with members of field sales organization
Provide in-the-field coaching to supplement efforts of RSMs
Document observations and coaching steps via Field Contact Report
Represent/navigate training initiatives as necessary thru medical/legal/regulatory approval process
Work cross functionally with marketing, medical affairs, clinical, OneSource etc. to better understand market factors and develop new and revise subsequent training initiatives as needed
Measure outcomes of training initiatives and create plans for continuous improvement
Report any Pharmacovigilance Event eventually discussed during the trainings.
5 years sales experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
Proven track record for delivering strong, consistent results during sales experience
Experience in launch of new drugs/indication trainings
Knowledge of multiple physician types including hematologists and nephrologists.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environment as well as independently on a consistent basis
Ability to develop strong, professional relationships
Travel required, up to 50% overnight travel.
Business or scientific degree
Sales training experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
Experience in specialty injectable/infusion markets, including hospital selling experience, with bone diseases or orphan drug experience
