Job Summary:

Relentless pursuit of TAKT Attainment on an on-going basis by checking the process, fixing the process and improving the process within the assigned work area.

·Operate as a key contributor to the team to set standard work, audit standard work, and improve standard work while problem solving and tracking MDI

·Has a thorough understanding of jobs within the assigned team area (achieve within 6 months of leadership placement); excludes testing due to complexity and safety requirements may work on the line to support daily production as needed.

·Maintain MDI boards on an hourly basis

·Participate in GEMBA walks and effectively articulate results, scheduling, problem identification and problem solving activities, etc.

·Actively support Lean concepts such as 9 step problem solving, participating with RIE’s, value stream mapping, 5-S, and material inventory control methods, etc.

·Must be willing to be certified in Team Leader Development program

·Must be willing to be assigned / rotated through different lead assignments.

·Provide coaching, direction, and guidance to employees in regarding non-conformance to standard work (including, but not limited to, productivity, quality, housekeeping, and safety)

·Required to work unscheduled overtime as needed

·Keep supervisor informed of production status and issues affecting daily production rate, product quality and delivery, and employee safety.

·Provide feedback on employee and/or team performance to the supervisor and/or manager.

·Assign work to employees to accomplish daily production plan.

·Work with supervisor to ensure new employees and/or newly placed employees on new jobs or tasks are properly trained per ISO requirements and Standard Work

·Monitor time and attendance if required due to supervisor absence

·Perform safety, quality, standard work, and housekeeping audits

·Assist employees with technical and quality issues on product.

·Coordinate with Engineer and/or Quality Department on engineering / quality issues

·Coordinate with Scheduling on orders as well as other materials team members on materials issues; coordinate with Stores on material shortages

·Hold EHS stand downs and safety talks

·Promote teamwork and collaboration within the team and with other teams or departments

·Support management decisions and effectively communicate decisions with team

·Foster a positive attitude and lead by example

·Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

·High School Diploma / GED

·One year service with Ingersoll Rand preferred but not required

·Must have demonstrated leadership behaviors/competencies

·Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

·Some training may require out of town travel.

·Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn all roles in a given area of the plant

·Accepts change and is willing to adapt and learn new tasks

·Responds to coaching and corrective action.
