The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program’s two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.
Responsibilities for this Controls Engineer Level 3 include: Designs and drafts systems of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls for machines and equipment, such as programmable controllers for cranes and HVAC systems. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignments.
Desired Skills: Knowledge of HVAC Controls preferred. Industrial Ethernet Network Infrastructure experience using RuggedCom Enhanced Rapid Spanning Tree protocol over a hybrid mesh/ring topology a plus. Understanding of system security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as they apply to SCADA and ICS. Applicant must be able to identify and communicate how changes may impact the security posture of the system. Software and Languages to include: Windows, UnityPro, RSLogix5000, TIA Portal, Step7, WinCC, Structureware and MS Office
