Abbott Sr Production Supervisor - Casa Grande AZ Plant in Casa Grande, Arizona

Abbott’s Casa Grande AZ Plant is looking for a Sr Production Supervisor that will be responsible for the overall results of multi-shift manufacturing operations for a manufacturing line(s); this individual will directly mentor and coach direct reports who are accountable for shift performance on the line and will be accountable to ensure understanding by these team members of result delivery impact of their shift on the overall results of the multi-shift line or department. Establishes the right team culture, where people are accountable for the business and continuously improving the line.

Productivity:

  • Own all productivity performance metrics and drive root cause and corrective actions for metrics not achieving.

  • Coach and direct individuals and teams in delivering productivity performance improvements. Drive accountability and empowerment to the individual, team and department level for productivity performance deliverables.

  • Accountable to influence and reinforce continuous improvement programs utilizing operational excellence (e.g. Six Sigma Program, Lean, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Focus Problem Solving) methodologies.

  • Ensure and anticipate proper alignment and prioritization between production and all support teams (e.g. maintenance, scheduling, labs, engineering, finance, material control, IT, Quality Systems, etc).

  • Coach direct reports to drive urgency, focus and communication for areas of responsibility.

GMP, Quality, Compliance and Food Safety:

  • Own efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the department of accountability. Coach and direct individuals to be in position to take appropriate action related to quality and compliance issues.

  • Understand and manage GMP, quality, compliance and food safety risks appropriately.

  • Initiate, manage, and make decisions in collaboration with the Quality organization in the best interests of GMP, quality, compliance and food safety. Accountable for key elements such as line clearance, Batch Right First Time, labeling, coding, Extraneous Material, and Protect our Products (PoP) events.

  • Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external Quality/Regulatory audits. Accountable for sustaining audit readiness through reinforcement of key programs such as 5S program, Master sanitation, PM program, etc. Prioritize and manage exceptions and abnormal events coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Accountable to ensure all Quality investigations/actions are closed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure compliance with all training requirements for self and team.

People:

  • Create a learning environment and support Production Supervisors (Front Line Leaders) learning and development plans.

  • Collaborate with your manager in the development of strategic and tactical goal development for the department and teams that align with Site Strategy Map and goals.

  • Demonstrate effective change management and communication that assures timely and relevant transfer of information to and from all levels and functional areas of the organization.

  • Effectively collaborate and align with all HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure the right discipline and accountability by driving consistency in the necessary personnel performance related issues including positive reinforcement, coaching, disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.

  • Develop trust with employees through line expertise/knowledge, regular open communications and encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas.

  • Identify and bring in key talent to build the organization.

  • Develop key talent, at Front Line Leader (FLL) and potential FLL level, by providing appropriate training, mentoring and progressively challenging responsibilities.

  • Coach and Mentor employees to build and improve their skills and capabilities to meet and exceed expected performance expectations.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):

  • Own efforts required to deliver the EHS performance for the /department. Coach and direct individuals in delivering EHS performance for department.

  • Ensure continuous focus on EHS through evaluations, reinforcing procedures and policies through observation and constructive coaching. Actively participate, prepare for and support safety focused audits.

  • Drive accountability throughout the department by ensuring policies are followed and performance managing deviations from policy.

  • Interface between EHS to influence and reinforce safety programs.

  • Drive correct EHS behaviors at the department level identifying and executing interventions for improvement. Model and promote the behaviors that support a continuously improving EHS culture by engaging with employees and other key stakeholders in ensuring all EHS requirements are met inclusive of internal and external regulatory objectives and direction.

  • Coach and direct Front Line Leaders and Operators to be in position to take appropriate action related to financial issues (e.g. OEE, scrap, OT, Distressed inventory, MUV, batch reconciliation, etc).

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability, and SVP within the department, operating within fiscal constraints, material utilization and Cost Improvement Program (CIP) goals.

Financial/Business Responsibility:

  • Own efforts required to assist in development of budget and deliver to all financial performance metrics and achieve the Profit & Loss (P&L).

  • Own efforts required to deliver financial performance for the department.

  • 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience

  • Process controls management experience preferred

Education

Bachelor degree in Business, Science, Food Technology, Technical or Engineering preferred.

MBA preferred but not required
