The Director, Global Regulatory Learning is responsible for supporting the implementation of the enterprise learning strategy and leading a team in supporting global regulatory and required learning initiatives across the organization. As part of this effort, the Director will lead efforts to enhance the design, development, and delivery of the global regulatory learning program at American Express. As the subject matter expert, the individual will also provide consultative advice to enterprise clients on industry best practices. In addition, the Director will lead the global learning process and protocol to lead and support a sustainable program governance framework. As liaison between business units, subject matter experts and respective learning teams this individual will oversee capacity planning and engage internal and external resources to meet demand requirements.
The Director will also lead program process/functionality improvements through technology to support current and future program enhancements. As the enterprise point of contact for global regulatory learning this individual will be accountable for addressing end-to-end program and process related matters and leading the team in addressing complex inquiries from clients, management, regulators, and learners. This role reports to the Vice President, Global Regulatory Learning & Exam Management.
This is a highly visible and strategic position with significant and regular interaction with senior leaders across the company.
Support the development and implementation of the enterprise learning strategy and program governance to drive innovative, relevant, and sustainable enterprise learning solutions
Lead the day-to-day operations associated with enterprise Regulatory and Required learning and liaise with clients and SMEs to develop, launch, and track learning initiatives
Continue to innovate, enhance, refresh, and upgrade the current state of the annual regulatory learning strategy to deliver the best-in-class program at AXP; ensure learner interaction, engagement, and efficacy of all learning initiatives
Partner with stakeholders to understand business priorities and consult on best-in-class, scalable and modern learning solutions
Lead the development of learning solutions that are relevant and delivered flawlessly - with high impact and appropriate measures in place
Increase social and informal learning initiatives and incorporate into learning design.
Lead and oversee the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of structures and processes that support the core learning and development technologies
Support audit and exam related requests as it pertains to global regulatory learning program, process and/or procedures, as appropriate
Oversee the provision and analysis of learning metrics, and resultant recommendations for improvement; lead the team in providing insights into the success of the overall program components
7-10 years of Learning and Development experience within a highly regulated environment is preferred, to understand the regulations and be able to instill them through learning and development
Strong experience in Adult Education with an emphasis on leading curriculum development and e-Learning solutions.
Strong’ experience in project management and capacity planning
Strong complex problem solving is required; issues with content, assignments, and analytics/tracking will require issue resolution
Experience with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone preferred).
Excellent Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to link project strategies to business objectives and lead desired business outcomes to support enterprise strategy
Exceptional Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively collaborate, partner and consult with global senior leaders, business partners and subject matter experts to bring together competing priorities and ultimately drive business results.
Innovator: capacity to be a change agent - not afraid to challenge the status quo. Experience leading change management leveraging new technology, tools and/or processes.
Cross-Functional Leader: Demonstrated ability to lead and partner with cross-functional, virtual teams and operate autonomously, making complex decisions in situations of ambiguity and time pressure.
Results Driver: Track record of successfully managing multiple projects at once successfully. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, excel in a complex fast paced, team-oriented environment with rapidly evolving business demands.
Self-directed, self-starter – able to both design strategy and execute against it, without immediate supervision
Enthusiastic, resilient and demonstrates the will to win, learn, innovate, and grow!
Preferred Additional :
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Learning & Development a plus
