Merck Associate Director – Policy & Process Governance Lead in Concord, New Hampshire

Information Technology Risk Management and Security Governance Risk and Compliance (ITRMS GRC) is an essential component of the current IT enterprise that provides support to the Pharmaceutical Research, Supply Chain and Marketing organizations. The Strategy, Governance, and Automation function is responsible for all IT GRC policies and processes, technologies, controls, compliance programs and data insights.
The Associate Director – Policy & Process Governance Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing all IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) policies, SOPs, supporting documents and associated materials so each achieves the desired outcome(s) for the IT organization in an efficient and user-centric manner. This role reports to the Director, IT GRC Strategy, Governance, and Automation.
Oversee the full suite of IT GRC policies and processes to ensure seamless integration with other processes.
Collaborate with IT GRC and IT stakeholders to manage all user and stakeholder feedback and update IT GRC policies and processes based on feedback and organizational needs.
Oversee and manage official training and educational and reference materials for all IT GRC policies and processes.
Provide consultancy and guidance on the interpretation of IT GRC policies and processes and their implementation.
Work closely with stakeholders, including IT leadership, divisional IT Quality and Audit to align on the approaches defined within the IT GRC policies and processes.
Act as business process owner for projects that automate IT GRC policies and processes.
Define and track relevant metrics (e.g. performance, value, uptake) for IT GRC policies and processes.
Desired Education Level:
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Concentration in an Information Technology discipline is preferred.
Required Experience and Skills:
8+ years working in a Regulated and/or Technology Industry.
Good understanding of IT compliance within a regulated industry.
Direct experience developing and managing global policies and processes.
Experience with Agile or similar methodologies.
Demonstrates an executive presence through good communication and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thoughtfully consider broad perspectives.
Strong collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in Life Sciences Quality or Compliance.
Expertise in Agile or similar methodologies.
Experience as an IT developer or Scrum Master.
Experience in Process Modelling and/or Process Development.
