CVS Health Category Specialist - Optical in Cumberland, Rhode Island

Job Description

Are you passionate about being part of a growing team? As the Category Specialist -Optical, you will have responsibility of leading and maintaining the Optical Centers POS systems. You will work closely with the Director of Product Development, Strategy, Category Manager and Analyst to assist in delivering P&L results to achieve revenue and margin goals. You should have strong analytical skills, experience working with POS/PMS systems and have experience in handling planograms. The role requires you to have strong attention to detail, ownership for results, and the ability to work reciprocally with business team members.

Your key job responsibilities will be:

  • POS item set-up with ongoing pricing validation to ensure all set-up is accurate and make adjustments according to project timelines

  • Monitor accuracy of pricing to ensure all financials align with actual sales; partner with finance and business team

  • Set-up all promotions in system; validate

functionality and test that all promotional rules function as planned; deactivate promotions at the end of campaign

  • Monitor promo performance and all other reporting within systems; work with Analytics to develop and issue reporting

  • Support the Sr. Category Manager role on Marketing and Promo activities

  • Own the returns processes; audit and validate all returns for credits

  • Perform inventory forecasting for frames, lenses and contact lenses; conduct monthly audits and maintain 12 month outlook

  • Lead new store opening’s forecasting; own new store product roll-out deliverables are achieved

  • Assist Sr. Category Manager in accuracy of planograms; work with Lab and Operations on communications to the field

  • Own all processes to complete all new vendor set-ups

  • Process all invoices and maintain department budget

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience in inventory, forecasting, pricing or merchandising

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly learn new products

  • Optical experience a plus

  • Demonstrated an ability to drive generate impact, work in a dynamic environment

  • Prioritize and deliver on multiple projects, concurrent business initiatives that have significant financial impact

  • Responsibility of handling and maintaining systems to ensure accurate item set-up, promotions, monitor returns, forecast inventory, monitor reporting and also manage the Center’s planogram to maintain accuracy

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and financial analysis; strong excel skills

  • Participation in P&L responsibility

  • Ability to build productive cross functional relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and other external partners
