Laboratory Technician - Decatur, IL

ADM Research Analytical

This is a full time, non-exempt position.

ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world’s premier agricultural origination and processing company, has an opening for a Lab Tech at our Corporate Research Center located in Decatur, IL!

Job responsibilities

This position will be working under the direction of scientists in the lab to prepare and analyze samples using laboratory instruments. The technician will prepare reagents and solutions, conduct routine analytical procedures, report results, and keep detailed scientific records of all work in a team environment.

Skill and proficiencies

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory

  • Some college coursework in chemistry, as well as familiarity with operating standard lab equipment (i.e., pH meter, balances, and spectrophotometer)

  • Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Excel is highly preferred

  • Experience with laboratory instruments (HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR) is a plus

  • Good oral and written communication skills are required

  • The ability to work in an organized fashion on many project responsibilities simultaneously is essential

  • The ability to stand or to work on a computer for extended periods
