Lead Textile Technician: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family
As Lead Textile Technician, you will properly operate equipment for fabric manufacturing. You will act as the Lead for the operation, setting-up and breaking down production equipment, cleaning production areas, and maintaining consumable supplies. Additionally, you will operate manufacturing processing equipment by following standard operations procedures. You will assist with day to day scheduling of operational activities.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Inspect products to ensure that specifications are met and to determine if machines need adjustment.
Observe cloth to detect defects.
Set up, or set up and operate textile machines that perform textile processing and manufacturing operations
Start machines, monitor operations, and make adjustments as needed. * Inspect machinery to determine whether repairs are needed.
Notify supervisors or repair staff of mechanical malfunctions.
Record information about work completed and machine settings.
Confer with co-workers to obtain information about orders, processes, or problems.
Clean, oil, and lubricate machines, using air hoses, cleaning solutions, rags, oil cans, or grease guns.
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years
Educational/ Position Requirements:
Minimum of Associate's Degree or Technical College or equivalent work experience
Experience in wet processing, preparation, printing, steaming, washing, finishing and examination preferred
A thorough understanding of computer controls as well as mechanical aptitude is important
Ability to read/interpret measurements
Ability to use basic hand tools
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and exhibit leadership skill in individual area of expertise
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
