Description: The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.

Additional tasks are required, and include but not

limited to: HAXMAT/HAZWASTE handling, corrosion control, inspection/repair, maintenance inspection, aircraft launch and recovery, aircraft servicing, towing, and jack/shoring aircraft.

CONUS and OCONUS travel is required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 6 year inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems (GAC, Com/Nav, EW, Sensors. Elect Env,Aircraft electrician). Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, avionics boxes and chassis’ using common and specialized hand tools, power tools, and applicable test equipment.

Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and equipment associated with aircraft systems functionality

Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings

Modification experience

Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS

Active U.S. Passport

Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
