Job Description

This role requires a highly skilled individual with subject matter expertise in Network Security, Firewall Management, IPS/IDS, VPN, Reverse Proxy, Remote Access, Mobile Remote Access and Network Protocols. The candidate must interface globally and have deep experience in the operation and support of global network perimeter solutions, services, and hardware. The selected candidate will work independently, lead security and perimeter related projects, perform changes to the perimeter infrastructure, monitor the health of the architecture, investigate and resolve problems, and execute projects for perimeter devices within the infrastructure. The candidate will provide leadership to team members and coordinate global and interdepartmental projects from inception through to implementation, oversee the quality of the work and ensure it meets our departmental and corporate standards.

The candidate will interface with Network Engineering on new tools, architectures, and introduction of new devices into the production environment. As a lead in the perimeter space, they will be system management experts (SME’s) relied upon by management and leads across departments to propose solutions, lead complex problem resolution(s), develop new operational procedures, and have a strong breadth of knowledge across all technologies managed within the network perimeter team. The candidate will provide decision making activities for their region and at times globally on behalf of the department. Those responsibilities will include authorizations for emergency changes, and guidance to junior perimeter staff regarding changes, development efforts and project work tasks and assignments. They will make leadership decisions as delegated to by his/her manager. The candidate will have high ethical standards and be entrusted with sensitive access to our most critical architecture.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent experience or Industry Certifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Min of 5 years experience in Network Engineering/Operations.

  • Min 5 years experience in a Perimeter support role.( Firewall )

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of Networking Perimeter technologies

  • Has experience at accomplishing complex problem resolution

  • Must be able to enable solutions in a high-pressure environment, prioritize business needs, and react quickly in times of crisis.

  • Experience supporting remote access tools, architectures, and utilities

  • Experience supporting network firewalls, reverse proxies, and VPN solutions.

  • Engineering or Operations support of VPN solutions such as IPSEC, GRE and SSL

  • Experience with Federation services and Radius

  • Experience with Cloud Exchange, AWS, Azure, and VPC’s.

  • Deep understanding and expertise with Network LAN/WAN

  • Deep knowledge of Cisco routers and switches

  • Deep knowledge of Networking Protocols

  • Ability to be on-call on a rotating basis.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Science, or equivalent experience a plus

  • Min 5-10 years in Network Engineering/Operations, with 5 of those in a Perimeter support role.

  • Essential to this position are demonstrated accomplishments in achieving objectives in a global organization together with the ability to work effectively and independently on cross-functional teams

  • Deep knowledge of Juniper SA / MAG / Pulse Security Gateways

  • Deep knowledge of firewalls, reverse proxies, VPN solutions and Web Gateways

  • Deep knowledge of VPN solutions such as IPSEC, GRE and SSL

  • Deep knowledge with Cloud Exchange, AWS, Azure, and VPC’s.

  • Knowledge of Windows Authentication methods such as AD and LDAP

  • Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE

  • Demonstrated experience successfully deploying and supporting: - Cisco ASA Firewalls

  • Juniper SA / MAG / Pulse Security Gateways

  • Palo Alto firewalls

  • Federated services

  • SAML

  • Certificate authentication

  • Cisco Security Manager (CSM)

  • Intrusion Protection

  • Web Gateways

  • Load Balancer config and setup

  • Cisco IOS Routers and Switches

  • Wireless and Mobile Devices

  • Cisco Wireless Networks
