Job Purpose and Impact
The Automation, Electrical and Instrumentation (AEI) Specialist will focus on optimizing our interconnected components of a manufacturing system. We seek a professional who will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering field. In this role, you will help coordinate plant location, personnel workflow and ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence and equipment layouts.
Help manufacturing plant and facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
Help conduct cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revise operating methods.
Establish methods to maximize use of production facilities and personnel.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience
Proven experience of industrial electrical systems from 120V DC to 4160V AC
Proven experience of process instrumentation ranging from pressure, temperature, level, flow, pH, conductivity, vibration, etc.
Proven experience configuring and programming a variety of control systems including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
Ability and willingness to work on weekends, overnight, on call if needed
Knowledge of D3
Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food Safety, Cargill Safety, and Environmental regulations
Understanding & ability to troubleshoot transformer systems including high to low voltage and understand electrical relay systems
Understanding of process controls from DCS (RS3, Delta V) to PLC (control logix, micro logix) and associated HMI systems
Knowledge of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61131 as well as other proprietary programming languages
Ability to read and update electrical schematics skills
Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling desired
Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital bus technology
