BAE Systems Software Developer in Hill AFB, Utah
BAE Systems is seeking a Software Developer to support the Air Force Solutions (AFS) Strategic Systems Information Services team. The selected applicant will join the IS team as we seek to deliver world-class capabilities for our client and its associated contractors, driving productivity and innovate new solutions. This team supports a variety of contracts/programs. This position will include the following duties and responsibilities:
Software development directly related to upgrading the F-35 aircraft software.
Work and coordinate with remote teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Testing code development against requirements.
System administration on Linux environment, specifically SUSE.
Business process and system requirements analysis.
Provide technical assistance, training, and system documentation to promote efficient operation of applications.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with 12 years of IT experience, or Masters of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with 10 years of IT experience
Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum, automated testing and continuous integration.
Extensive experience developing using C programming language running in a distributed fashion across a variety of computing platforms running Linux, UNIX, or Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with the following software tools: Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket),
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience with troubleshooting and proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
Ability to debug issues being reported by remote testing teams.
Fast learner with ability to quickly comprehend technology and understand unique system requirements.
If not already DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant, must receive CompTIA Security or other DoD IAT Level II certification within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
System Administration experience on Linux environments.
Developing and enhancing internal processes and procedures in terms of governance (documentation) and the complete Software Development Lifecycle
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience in technical writing.
Active DoD Secret security clearance
