General Purpose of Job

This position will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of Accounting responsibility. S/he will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for understanding more complex areas of the business, evaluating risk for those areas and ensuring that proper controls are designed and in place to mitigate those risks, through leadership within the Finance Controls and Governance Project Management Office

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Identifies and evaluates more complex risks and reports issues timely to appropriate level of management and/or business stakeholders.

  • Partners with colleagues and stakeholders in other locations and across lines of businesses to facilitate achievement of the overall desired SOX controls.

  • Collaborates, develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders including various levels of management within the enterprise and external auditors.

  • Identifies SOX/internal control issues/concerns and recommends mitigation solution(s) to management.

  • Ensures the integrity of more complex accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles, and compliance with internal controls and SOX.

  • Develops more complex processes to ensure internal controls and SOX compliance and provides ongoing assessment of effectiveness.

  • Identifies and resolves more complex issues with internal and/or external auditors in a collaborative manner

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in written form, financial issues identified and potential areas of enhancement.

  • Leads and/or participates in projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Education

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Experience

  • 3 - 5+ Years experience in Internal Controls that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)

  • IT and/or Accounting experience (Preferred)
