This new ground base Missile defense System will include phases progressing through design, flight test, initial production and deployment of the Next Generation Interceptor for the Ground Based Missile Defense system. As our next Solid Rocket Motor Certified Principal Engineer you will have the opportunity to: develop integration, technical requirements, and engineering documentation, lead component testing, lead investigations, collaborate with subcontract management to provide technical support, enhance cross discipline product development, participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development, all while serving as a technical interface to program management, systems engineering, quality, and our customer counterparts. You will lead the development team working within Lockheed Martin and with your Supplier Teammates on engineering design, qualification, assembly, integration and test of Solid Rocket Motors used in Divert Attitude Control System application. You will coordinate/approve teammates/sub-contract design packages and may be required to support functional testing of hardware and systems, troubleshooting these systems and making quick independent technical decisions. You will present at Engineering Review Boards, Configuration Control Boards, and Failure Review Boards as required and be expected to handle aspects of product acceptance reviews and certifications as Certified Principal Engineer of assigned hardware. Travel to support assembly, integration and testing of hardware and systems will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

- Considered a Solid Rocket Motor or Propulsion

system development expert

- Experience with aerospace flight hardware design, analysis, manufacture, or test and integration

- Responsible Engineer or Responsible Engineer delegate experience

- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

- Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher

- Experience developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product

- Fundamental understanding of Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Ordnance aerospace hardware systems and processes

- Demonstrated ability to drive hardware production activities through delivery to the program

- Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences

- Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, integration and test

- Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers

- Considered a technical leader in solid propellant propulsion system

- Team oriented, with good time management, and communication skills
