We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Manager to join our team. The desired location for this position is either Canoga Park, California; Redmond, Washington; Hunstville, AL; or West Palm Beach, FL. The leadership role is critical in driving robust SE&I processes across all AR sites and programs, while ensuring the SE&I effort is properly scoped to provide maximum value to each program.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
50% - Provide technical leadership of Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) process application on development and production programs across all sites and all programs. This includes systems architecture definition, system requirements development and management, risk and opportunity management, system and subsystem integration activities, and design/milestone review leadership/management.
20% - Management of approximately 3 SE&I Managers and 8-20 individual contributors. This also includes coordinating overall SE&I management of overhead budgets, staffing efforts, rewards and recognition, information flowdown, knowledge management, Command Media, software tool management, and Discipline health.
20%- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the job, focusing on high impact processes with low maturity. This also includes driving the latest systems engineering approaches (SysML, Digital Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering, and Enterprise Digital thread) into the culture, into new programs, and into existing programs where a robust value proposition is documented.
10% - Contribute to, or review and approve, SRIR proposal inputs (technical scope, budget, schedule, milestones, needed processes, and associated risks) across all sites and all programs.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and fourteen (14) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated supervisory skills required, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization. Systems Engineering degree or coursework and Systems Engineering experience are strongly preferred.
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
