Aerojet Rocketdyne Senior Engineer / Specialist Engineer, Project Engineering in Jupiter, Florida

To support our RL10 Upper Stage Rocket Engine Product Line we are seeking to fill the position of a Project Engineer at our facility located in Jupiter, Florida.
This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Working with minimal direction this position guides the successful execution of major projects and functions as a project leader driving the technical development, fabrication, test and production of engine systems.
65% - Lead or support engineering teams working RL10 propulsion development and production. Direct and coordinate multi-discipline engineering tasks to meet program requirements.
Design integration - Develop and maintain plan to efficiently incorporate design upgrades into the production engines
Determine plans to effectively utilize current assets in engine builds and fielded engine retrofits
Prioritize Design and Product Definition tasks with RL10 Team
Lead / support Engineering Review Boards and Change Control Boards
Lead / support anomaly investigations
25% - Monitor technical progress and interface with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to understand and develop resolution to program technical issues.
5% - Provide written and verbal status reports to Aerojet Rocketdyne Management, and provide leadership at product team meetings.
5% - Technical Lead on proposals to government customers or prime contractors for propulsion development or technology programs.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or other related field) and a minimum of 9 years of experience on propulsion projects, including engineering team lead experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering development, manufacturing, and supplier integration knowledge is desirable. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office and campus setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization. Must be able to travel by air, car or train.
