Job Description

We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting and performance evaluation. Position Description:

This position is a key role in the Tax Organization, responsible for liaising with our Company's Manufacturing Division with respect to US tax issues, Business Development, and Treasury, each as described more fully below. This is an extremely visible role both within Tax and throughout the Company and plays a critical role in the successful implementation of the Company’s tax strategy.

Primary Activities:

Tax Department liaison with (i) Manufacturing Division with respect to US tax issues; (ii) Business Development; and (iii) Treasury, each as further described below.

Manufacturing Division: Attend meetings with New Products Management, Manufacturing Division Financial Services, Global Product Commercialization, External Manufacturing, and other key client groups to keep abreast of product siting issues and opportunities for tax optimization and to review financial supply chains for new or re-sourced products. Advise the Manufacturing Division management on U.S. tax implications of proposed manufacturing and supply strategies, including substantial contribution, branch rule and other Subpart F implications.

Collaborate and coordinate with Tax Department colleagues to ensure that tax planning with the Manufacturing Division is consistent with and supports Tax Department strategy for IP ownership and licensing, and does not create any unintended indirect tax consequences, in particular coordinating with ex-U.S. Tax Department colleagues advising the Manufacturing Division to ensure that U.S. tax and indirect tax implications are properly considered.

Business Development: Review and determine optimal structure for various business development and licensing transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and collaborations, working with the BD and Licensing groups and outside advisors, as appropriate.

Treasury: Transition to become key Tax liaison with Treasury group, advising on intercompany loans, dividends, impacts of legal entity restructuring transactions, etc., coordinating with International Tax Compliance group.

Position Qualifications :

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • JD Required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of combined public accounting, law firm and corporate tax experience in mergers and acquisitions and international tax issues, including Subpart F planning, foreign tax credits, cross-border structuring, supply chain planning and transfer pricing.

  • Proven track record of strong relationship building and effective business communication skills; strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
