About this job
At CarMax Auto Finance, we put the needs of our customers and associates first, while supporting our retail division in their quest to make the car buying experience iconic. As a Manager, CAF Learning, your primary responsibility includes effectively managing a team of Instructors and Lead Representatives to facilitate an effective and creative functional New Hire Training program. You will consult with business partners to complete needs and gap analysis, recommend training solutions, leverage team to facilitate training using sound training principals and learning concepts, including measuring the success of the overall program.
What you’ll do
Assemble a team of Instructors and Lead Representatives who leverage proven training principals and learning concepts to facilitate the functional New Hire Program, which includes Classroom instruction, Hands-On-Training and New Hire add-on classes to learn company systems, policies, procedures and effective ways of doing their jobs for new call center associates.
Effectively select, manage, engage and develop the team to include instituting, monitoring and analyzing success measures of the New Hire program and each team member.
Collaborate with business partners and Learning team to identify opportunities for training adjustments and implement improvements.
Partner with the Learning team to provide guidance on and determine appropriate instructional methods, such as self-paced training, group instruction, simulation exercises, role plays and/or mentoring. Self and team develop and/or partner to develop content using agreed upon company design principals.

As a Manager on the Learning team, you will work with a team to develop and deliver learning to enhance associate performance, compliance and engagement. You will serve as a correspondent between the business and the associate; collaborating closely to create effective learning methods that resonate. It takes a solid understanding of functional learning, adult learning principals, combined with an ability to balance business needs with end-user responsiveness. Our philosophy on learning and training is that it should be engaging and interactive, therefore this role will be expected to think creatively - exploring instructional techniques to delivery efficient, effective and engaging learning with metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor Degree and 3+ years of experience in a corporate training function and 2 to 3 years of team management experience. Experience in training functional and soft skills preferred.
Proficiency in required training concepts including adult learning theory and a proven track record of developing and facilitating training.
Exceptional verbal, written and facilitation communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
