Job Description

Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.

Organon is seeking a Director of Business Technology (BT) M&A to lead the technology strategy activities related to global mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. The Director will be a key player in building and maintaining the overall direction for all BT M&A activity, ensuring consistent application to drive strategic integrations, due diligence and seamless planning and execution. This team member is also responsible for Organon Business Technology TSA governance, ensuring a smooth separation for both our company's. We are looking for an individual who excels in partnering and influencing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Closely partner with leaders across BT and Organon to architect integration strategies closely aligned with Organon’s operating model; drive timely and objective decision-making with sound advice and good judgment.

  • Participate in business development due diligence and opportunity analysis representing BT M&A across Organon, assuring BT is actively engaged in each phase of potential acquisitions and integrations.

  • Coordinate and execute technical due diligence for Organon BT, leveraging BT colleague expertise.

  • Present and communicate findings and perspective with stakeholders, sponsors, and senior leadership.

  • Oversee the creation, management and continuous refinement of a Business Technology integration ‘playbook’ and standard deliverables to manage business development transactions.

  • Own Business Technology integration governance and manage decisions and progress reports for integration team.

  • Present regular integration updates and ensure leadership is aware of critical issues/risks and drive them to resolution with constant and consistent objectivity.

  • Document detailed integration planning with milestones, timelines, resources and costs required to achieve deal specific value and synergies.

  • Management of the overall execution of the integration plan from Day 1 on-boarding to completion of all integration activities.

  • Build, motivate and inspire cross-functional teams that work closely with BT leaders to successfully plan and execute on integration milestones.

  • Develop and measure specific financial measures and leading indicators throughout the integration/transition period to measure success of the integration.

  • Drive the pace of integration and maintain alignment with the deal rationale.

  • Stay current in deal and integration thought leadership and best practices to maintain cutting-edge IT M&A integration capabilities.

  • Define and oversee processes to design and communicate the integration workplans, providing guidelines and statements of direction, tracking the quality, availability and timeliness of integration efforts.

  • Oversight of budgetary documents related to integration, as well as coordination of budgetary discussions with finance partners.

  • Measure and communicate value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis.

  • Provide BT TSA governance for Organon spin, working closely with the Transition Management Office; manage escalations and issue resolution.

  • Proven history of establishing and managing TSAs.

  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.


  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or Management) and 10+ years’ relevant work experience in IT M&A and technical diligence supporting information technology integration or separation activities.

  • A combination of strategic understanding, both business and technology experience, exceptional relationship building skills and solution-oriented mindset.

  • Global experience in working within a matrixed, multinational organization.

  • Able to align and work with diverse global stakeholders.

  • Broad business background with experience in complex systems and interdependencies.

  • Knowledge of and experience in leading complex post acquisition activities.

  • Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing TSAs.

  • Able to build and sustain strong relationships at multiple levels internally and with partners; high emotional intelligence and an ability to challenge in a nuanced way.

  • Familiar with a broad spectrum of business and IT applications.

  • Leading by example, mentoring, and motivating others.

  • Ability to effectively manage projects; results oriented and able to roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasks.

  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
