This Receiving Distribution Coordinator position is an opportunity for a highly motivated person to lead the distribution team and to drive safety, accuracy and productivity. Has responsibility for daily coordination to complete workload in a timely and efficient manner. Works with and assigns work to distribution associates and ensures, accuracy and 5S are completed in a timely manner. Successful candidates are team oriented with a continuous improvement mindset. Maintain safe & clean work areas, continually validate accuracy, demonstrate corporate values of Teamwork, Respect, Determination and Passion, and lead by example.

The position will report to a Distribution Supervisor. Day time schedule but must be flexible.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Lead the department to meet goals and quality levels per the supervisor’s direction

  • Able and willing to train, educate, and communicate the functions within the department they are leading that day

  • Coach Team members to provide for a strong positive cohesive environment

  • Schedule and assign work to distribution associates under the guidance of the supervisor to complete workload in a timely and efficient manner

  • Coordination with the Quality team to meet Attwood supplier expectations

  • Maintain strong employee relations through various proactive formal and informal departmental communication strategies. Lead by example

  • Partner with supervisor to troubleshoot and resolve daily opportunities

  • Monitor, maintain, review and execute with the receiving team

  • Coordinate with Logistics team for all inbound international and domestic shipments

  • Adhere to Attwood SOP’s (standard operating procedures)

  • Work alongside supervision while executing daily tasks

  • Meet receiving deadlines daily

  • Be able to back up supervision or other coordinators when needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required some continued education/training a plus

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • 5+ years prior experience working in a warehouse environment including hi-low/deep reach and radio frequency scanners

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills to diagnose and resolve opportunities

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of Team members

  • 2+ years prior experience with shipping/receiving operations, including but not limited to UPS, LTL, LCL and other shipments

  • Clean driving record and own transportation to work

  • The position will require physical strength, agility, dexterity and standing for extended periods

  • Computer proficiency. Prior experience with MS Office (all applications), Ames McBain, and COPICS preferred
