Oracle Product Mgmt/Strategy Snr Manager-ProdDev in Marlborough, Massachusetts
Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a manager in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate business needs. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Key Focus Areas
Lead a small team of experts within a broader dynamic organization to help drive the migration from our legacy My Oracle Support (MOS) service request system to Oracle Fusion Service, with a focus on the internal support analyst processes and tools.
Demonstrate excellent leadership, management and communication skills for those that you have stewardship in a remote-worker environment.
Think critcally and strategically about product and process improvements that could be made to our existing support delivery tools to respond to support delivery needs and objectives
Create and be adept and comfortable at presenting research-based product requirements and features, as well as progress and status updates, to all levels of the organization, including VP, SVP and EVP
Quickly gain a deep understanding of both our MOS Internal Support Portal (ISP) and New Support Portal (NSP) products and their use within our support delivery business, including our existing processes
Provide support for and leadership of our existing tools and processes throughout the course of the migration from MOS to FS to meet current and evolving support delivery business needs
Be the "go-to" product management person for service request management for both existing MOS and future-state Fusion Service systems
Manage a small team of experts through excellent communication and guidance, through both patience and high expectations to continue the evolution of a high-performing team
Accept assignments and hold yourself and your team accountable to complete them
Think creatively to innovate by knowing both the internal Oracle support delivery business needs as well as keeping abreast of the marketplace
Gather and analyze requirements in order to define detailed product specifications for our primary Oracle Support customer-facing portal, My Oracle Support
Work across both external customers and internal lines of business to ensure functional specifications are complete
Groom and refine user stories for a given feature based on the requirements
Write yourself and help members of your team write clear and detailed user stories for specific technical needs not addressed by product management and map to business requirements
Craft compelling go-to-market presentations intended for both internal and external audiences
Write product documentation intended for customer technical teams integrating our platforms
Research industry trends for support/service tools and portals and develop data-driven presentations to educate management and senior executives
Bring creative thinking to assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans for My Oracle Support
Clearly articulate product vision to executives, internal stakeholders, and customers
Provide on-going analysis and insight into the competitive landscape and industry trends
Effectively communicate with and understand the perspectives shared by the MOS and Fusion Service engineering teams
Initiate, manage, and implement cross-team efforts with major implications to the business
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation
Identify issues that will keep My Oracle Support from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements, and communicate to leadership
Manage My Oracle Support enhancement requests, with clear prioritization for development and executive management awareness
Work with the business to carry out impact analysis of enhancements to enable prioritization with development
Carry out day-to-day operation requirements including access requests, supporting users on the functionality etc.
Perform clickstream analysis of and other business analytics for My Oracle Support to identify key opportunities, trends, bottlenecks and untapped areas of improvement that will continue to position My Oracle Support as a best-in-class and industry-leading support portal
Help drive the successful transition of My Oracle Support from our legacy systems to the Cloud
Experience and Skills:
BS or MS or MBA degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
10( ) years of software/hardware industry experience
5( ) years of experience in product management, preferably with cloud based applications
3-5( ) years experience with My Oracle Support or other customer support web sites
3-5( ) years experience in a management role with direct reports
You listen carefully and communicate in written form clearly and concisely
You are comfortable presenting in front of internal and external audiences of varying sizes
You have demonstrated experience collaborating successfully with other functional teams
It is highly desirable, but not requresd, that you have experience with user interface design concepts and/or web site design
It is highly desirable, but not required, that you have experience with Oracle Business Intelligence, or other analytics software, creating ad-hoc reports and queries
It is desirable, but not required, that you have experience with a software-as-a-service or other Cloud-based products
Additional Description and Job Requirements
As a member of the My Oracle Support product management team, you will specify, design and implement major changes to My Oracle Support and associated systems. Define product needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans. Communicate with QA and engineering to ensure consistency and testability.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new My Oracle Support capabilities/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology and service innovation. You will recommend and justify major changes to existing capabilities/services/processes based on market analysis, customer and internal requirements and executive strategic directions.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in customer service systems and customer support. Be a leading contributor individually and as a manager, providing direction and mentoring to those on your team and others. Work well with a geographically dispersed team across timezones and countries. Travel may be required occasionally but will be very minimal.
