Hilton Manager, Payroll Tax in Memphis, Tennessee

***This Role Will Be Based Remotely***

Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.

What will I be doing?

With a strong eye for detail and a passion for payroll, the Manager, Payroll Tax will ensure that Hilton is meeting their tax and reporting obligations. Specifically, you will be responsible for the accuracy of Hilton’s cyclical regulatory filings through the application of audits, data validation, and reconciliations between applications and agencies. More specifically, you will:

  • Handle all payroll tax functions for assigned entities
  • Perform research regarding tax and payroll-withholding procedures and provide customer service to team members and third parties with their tax specific inquiries
  • Conduct the cyclical reconciliation of payroll taxes across platforms
  • Be accountable for tactical month, quarter, and year end close processes, including validation of 941s, 940s, and W2s Create key performance metrics specific to payroll tax to measure the performance of Hilton’s 3rd party service providers
  • Monitor federal and state tax law changes and provide analysis as to the impacts to Hilton’s legal entities
  • Work cross-functionally and with the broader payroll department to provide in-depth functional knowledge of payroll taxes including W2c’s and balance adjustments
  • Supply functional knowledge to support how US Payroll tax legislation is set up, calculated, and reported in Hilton’s Oracle Cloud Payroll system
  • Support the Senior Manager with prioritizing system changes and enhancements to keep Hilton’s Oracle Cloud Payroll system up to date with tax changes
  • Evaluate processes and implement operating efficiencies that deliver a year-over-year decrease in fines and penalties
  • Support enterprise efforts that have payroll tax and reporting implications, such as the deployment of equity programs and the onboarding of Team Members with employment Visas

  • Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints and meet schedules; at times with unexpected deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience in the field of payroll, tax, accounting, or finance
  • Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll for large organizations with payroll taxes handled internally or using a third-party provider
  • Advanced ability with tools such as Microsoft Excel to aid in data extraction, organization, and visualization
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
