The Laboratory Chemist focuses on performing routine laboratory operations to support the laboratory environment. This position requires knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through lab/ schoolwork experience and may require vocational or technical education; works under limited supervision for non-routine situations.

Works on assignments requiring technical judgment and initiative; understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments; may serve as informal leader in small team environment
Sets up, configures, installs, and maintains laboratory equipment
Follows instructions and checklists to operate equipment and mix chemical solutions for use in tests
Takes measurements and performs routine chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures
Compiles research data, operating records, and reports of test results
Controls stocks of materials and chemical agents
Performs safety program checks and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments
Works under limited supervision for non-routine situations.
Other duties as assigned
Work experience with GC, HLPC, GPC or other chromatography lab equipment.
B.S. degree in Chemistry
Typically requires a minimum of 3+ years of related experience
