BAE Systems Government Compliance Analyst ( Hybrid/Remote work an option) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

This position in Government Compliance will provide you with a broad exposure to the CMS Business through interactions with various functions, i.e. Program Finance, Program Management, Accounting, and Contracts, as well as others, allowing you to increase your knowledge of these areas as well as expand your professional networking opportunities. You will also gain an enhanced understanding of the requirements and obligations of being a defense contractor. Experience gained working in Government Compliance provides a solid and wide-ranging base for future career development.


  • Manage all aspects of supporting DCAA Audits; coordinate and facilitate responses to audits

  • Develop/analyze/interpret complex financial data in support of audits and business needs

  • Interface with upper management and government customer

  • Lead projects, including appropriate planning/communication with internal and external customers

  • Support negotiations of compliance-related issues with government auditors and customers

  • Ensure financial compliance to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR, DFARS, and Disclosure Statement; interpret changes to same for impact on programs

  • Provide guidance and interpretation of Disclosure Statement

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications and advises management on new developments

  • Assist in the preparation of the Incurred Cost Submission (indirect rate proposal) and DFARS Business System related activities

  • Position is currently hybrid but remote work is a possibility

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years experience or 10 years relevant experience job-related work that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the role(position).

  • Ability and willingness to thoroughly document activities and processes

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

  • Effective communication skills

  • Good planning, time management, and organization skills

  • Sound interpersonal skills when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with internal and external customers

  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable federal laws and regulations

  • Ability to develop and demonstrate research and present findings

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS degree inAccounting/Finance/Business Administration

  • Experience interfacing with government auditors

  • Knowledgeable of FAR/CAS

  • In-depth understanding of CMS CAS segment accounting system

  • Knowledgeable of CMS Disclosure Statement

  • Willingness to venture into new areas of responsibility

  • Team oriented with project leadership experience

  • Ability to stay calm, logical, and professional in stressful meetings

  • Effective listening skills

  • Familiar with indirect rate packages; development and applications and DFARS Business System
