*This is a full-time internship position and will be available starting June 2022*

After successful completion of the internship program, opportunity for continued part-time employment may exist until December 2022. Our office is located at: 9700 Healthcare Lane, Minnetonka, MN 55343

Program Features:

  • Participate in a 10-week internship program that includes a comprehensive and structured training curriculum. This will include training on the exchange business, systems, and sales processes necessary to serve eligible members and prospects looking for health care coverage.

  • Gain company and health care industry knowledge

  • Enhance communication and presentation skills

  • Learn and understand different work styles

  • Learn and live our corporate culture and values

  • Access a repository of online self-development tools and resources

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales/enrollments through effective handling of telephonic and email inquiries from agents and brokers interested in enrolling consumers in UnitedHealthcare plan(s)/product(s)

  • Collect and organize sales and support data to enhance future sales processes

  • Create tracking tools in support of sales events, communications, and training

  • Create preliminary communications in support of 2023 sales strategy

You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship (internships are not intended for graduating seniors)

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rising senior status during the summer of 2022

  • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Previous marketing and/or sales experience

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
