The Vice President, Creative Services role will report to the SVP of Strategic Marketing & Brand and will focus on translating business objectives into content, communications and brand designs that are consistently executed across multiple channels. The role will supervise a team of campaign planners, project managers and graphic designers to develop solutions that meet UnitedHealth Group’s strategic goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department leads to create a shared vision, develop communication strategies, and lead team to deliver excellent work within tight timelines and budgets

  • Maintain high team morale and productivity by assessing capacity, prioritizing projects and proactively working with internal clients to effectively manage workflow, timing and demand. Ensure that each project has the specific financial and personnel resources it requires to be successful

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive brand identity system to ensure a consistent approach to content. Protect our brand identity by regularly auditing content, identifying off-brand material and taking action to correct

  • Produce a dynamic range of collateral, including advertising, emails, events, investor conferences, reports, data visualization, videos, websites, social media, leadership communications and more

  • Implement systems and processes to efficiently scale production, ensure consistent high-quality output and maximize value added

  • Present new and/or complex concepts to management for approval; secure buy-in through an iterative and rapid design process

  • Coach, mentor and develop the team to position it for success and future growth

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher education in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations, or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years of strategic marketing experience with large multi-company organizations

  • Broad experience with key audience segments - opinion leaders, consumers, B-to-B and B-to-C

  • Highly skilled at working cross-functionally and cross-culturally with people at all levels, including influencing C-Suite and other senior leaders

  • Extensive experience operationalizing brands, inclusive of always-on content

  • Fluent in the creative development process and in managing creative teams

  • Ability to prioritize critical assignments and to oversee workflow

  • History of effectively driving results in a dynamic, matrixed environment with high degree of organizational change and comfort with ambiguity

  • Strong executive presence, including a history of presenting to senior executives

  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience directly leading a team of 15 or more

  • Superior interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), and presentation skills
