As a Behavioral/Mental Health Care Advocate you will be responsible for utilization review of behavioral health and substance abuse cases. You'll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you recommend and manage the appropriate level of care throughout the entire treatment plan. We are looking for someone that has an active and unrestricted independent clinical license in Tennessee and lives in the State of Tennessee

Managing and administering inpatient behavioral health benefits
Reviewing clinical assessments and determining appropriate levels of care
Reviewing initial reviews and conducting concurrent reviews
Determining if additional clinical services are needed
Coordinating benefits and transitions between various levels of care
Identifying ways to add value to treatment plans and consulting with facility staff on those ideas
Identify appropriate community-based services for discharge planning as indicated

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling; OR Licensed Ph.D.; OR Registered Nurse
Residency in the State of Tennessee
Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Tennessee
Residency in the State of Tennessee
2+ years of experience in behavioral health
If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
Experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Outlook, Internet)
