Seeking a Application Engineer with skills in Unix, Java, web technologies and relational database. This candidate will work with other engineers, architects and analysts.

A successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of software patterns, software modeling, secure programming principles, test-driven development or another unit testing methodology, and code standards compliance. This position requires a candidate who can analyze business requirements, perform design tasks, construct, test, and implement solutions.

The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, an enthusiastic learner, and must be committed to delivering high quality solutions within scheduled timelines. Builds strong and diverse network of relationships with various stakeholder groups.

Research, Analyze, Design and Construct

  • Construct and/or consult in debugging applications across all aspects of application development including but not limited to Front end graphical user interface design as well as Middle tier and Database layer.

  • Consult in or directly develop processes for integrating new software into existing systems.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, project lead, management and stakeholders on project requirements and sprint planning.

  • Use Team foundation Server for source control, product backlog items and tasks

  • Provide accurate and thorough estimates of work effort.

  • Participate in large-scale development projects involving multiple areas outside of core team.

  • Develop understanding of defined SDLC processes and coding standards

  • Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad effect on IT assets and product teams

    Operational Support

  • Production application support.

  • Establishing and responding to system generated alerts


  • 3 years


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent additional experience)


    Requires a strong track record in application development.

  • Experience with Java

  • Experience with the design, development and maintenance.

  • Experience with Designing and building REST Based Services, integrating multiple systems, and working in highly distributed & Modular applications

  • Experience with web technologies (XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, OO JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX)

  • Experience with Spring framework

  • Experience with distributed caching such as eCache

  • Experience with Java based Rules engine such as Drools

  • Experience with Messaging and Queue Systems such as RabbitMQ

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server

  • Familiarity with build tools such as Ant or Maven.

  • Familiarity with JUNIT Framework

    Ability to provide timely and innovative solutions to business owners to solve technical problems.

  • Understanding of SDLC and application development with iterative methodologies.
