  • Ensuring an effective and robust framework is in place to enable the business to accept, manage or mitigate materials risks and issues;

  • Actively supporting the business in delivering change, ensuring that governance processes are crisp, efficient and effective;

  • Ensuring that GCS has an effective framework for Process Management that ensures processes are well designed, meet applicable requirements, are supported through robust controls, integrated testing, and appropriate investment in capabilities.

  • Timely and effective resolution of risks and issues supported by and effective preventive framework to identify and eliminate their root causes.

  • Ensuring risks related to 3rd Parties, Partners & Legal Entities are managed in line with regulatory & AXP expectations.

  • Ensuring that GCS OE is a trusted partner to the GCS business in supporting them meeting their expectations, and in doing so, operates efficiently leveraging centers of excellence where applicable, but also ensuring strong business focus and presence.

The GCS OE Exam Response and Investigations Team works closely with GRBC, RELM, GCO, Compliance, Internal Audit and other key stakeholders as well as the leaders across GCS to ensure all activities comply with internal standards, policies and regulatory expectations. This Team is responsible for delivering accurate, comprehensive and timely responses to external regulators or Internal Audit.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting the GCS Exam Management program, facilitating successful internal/external examination responses, maintaining relationships with external and internal examiners and auditors, and building a robust exam history repository for future needs. Responsibilities will also include senior management/ business unit reporting and supporting sensitive business unit investigations, so confidentiality and discretion are critical to this role.

  • Responding to requests from regulatory agencies, internal audit, GRBC; gathering, reviewing, submitting and archiving response material; coordinating meetings as required and following up on any findings which may result from the examination or audit;

  • GCS Internal Investigations Response – supporting Internal Audit or GCO investigations

  • Supporting Canada and Latin America Exam Responses and Investigations

  • Working and providing influence across a matrixed environment;

  • Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships across the organization to ensure high quality, on-time deliverables;

  • Applying superior Microsoft Office Excel & PowerPoint skills to create professional reports and presentations within tight deadlines;

  • Maintaining exam or audit tracking information;

  • Working individually and with other teams on both structured and unstructured assignments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational Excellence, Compliance, Internal Audit, Regulatory Exam Management, Operational Risk or a related discipline.

  • Knowledge and experience with the US banking regulatory environment. Experience in the Canadian and Latin American regulatory environment a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver quality in a time sensitive setting is essential.

  • Strong communicator, with experience of engaging with key stakeholders.

  • Superior written communication skills and an understanding of how to craft regulatory responses.

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage complex tasks.

  • Skills in organizing, managing and interpreting large amounts of data

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work across a wide range of teams and build effective working relationships.
