Digital acquisition is one of American Express’ key priorities, and a core component of this is making the application process as easy and seamless as possible for potential applicants. The purpose of the US Commercial Application team is to grow billed business acquired and new accounts by accelerating the completed applications for our prospect and customer journeys and delivering new features to drive approval and engagement.

The US Commercial Application team partners with a cross functional team of stakeholders including design, user research, technologies, risk, servicing, and marketing to grow the small business and corporate card base for the company. This includes self-directed (i.e. web/mobile), integrated partner and assisted applications (face to face and telemarketing).

In this role, the analyst will support development by assisting in providing requirements for new features, be responsible for providing post launch insightful analysis in addition to ad-hoc reporting to identify optimization opportunities and conduct competitive analysis to analyze processes and application trends. The analyst will partner closely with cross functional teams to ensure efficient prioritization and delivery of the product backlog.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide support for and/or lead core development projects within the US Commercial Application

  • Support requirement gathering and the creation of agile user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Support scrum team planning and story prioritization of the product backlog on a daily basis

  • Lead critical postlaunch analysis for the team’s core product releases, testing, and ongoing product performance and optimization

  • Partner closely with engineering and design to continuously optimize the UI/UX of application experiences

  • Partner closely with marketing stakeholders to understand the business needs and provide ongoing updates on key work in progress

Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Digital product development experience

  • Highly organized, detail oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple work flows

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data, extracting key themes and messages to drive decisions

  • Able to effectively adapt under changing conditions and prioritize initiatives in a fastpaced environment

  • Strong relationship management and problemsolving skills

  • Understanding of Agile principles an experience working in Scrum

Preferred Additional Skills/Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2 years of digital product development experience

  • Familiarity with basic UX/UI principles and Responsive Web Design (RWD)

  • Experience in matrix organizations and crossfunctional environments

  • Driven, curious and diligent problem solver with a willingness to learn, challenge the status quo and collaborate to make an impact

  • Passionate about delivering bestin-class user experiences, working with technology, and being an active contributor to the product culture at American Express

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Adobe Omniture, Tableau, and Invision a strong plus
