American Express B2B Internal Communications Manager in New York, New York
As a Manager of Internal Communications, you will be joining the B2B communications team supporting the Global Commercial Services (GCS) and Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) businesses. You will apply your proven strategic marketing and communications expertise to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate communications programs to support and sustain a high performing culture within GCS and GMNS. This position will work directly for the Vice President of Communications and will work closely across Corporate Affairs & Communications and BU Leadership.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting two GCS Executives, managing their day-to-day internal communications activities, delivering colleague-focused communications that are consistent and on-strategy for colleagues at all levels. Additionally, you will provide communications support, as needed, to other GCS and GMNS Executives.
Support the Vice President of Communications in delivering consistent, effective, creative, and impactful colleague engagement and internal communications content/programs.
Lead communications for 2 GCS Executives:
Create and execute full communications plans to engage and inform colleagues across digital and live (once applicable) channels.
Partner with Executive offices on their Inclusion & Diversity initiatives and additional colleague-led engagement initiatives.
Manage and coordinate logistics and provide support for various town halls and other large-scale events.
Craft written and video communications as needed.
Collaborate, partner and consult with global senior leaders, business partners and colleagues such as CA&C, BU Executive Offices, CEG, Product Management, Marketing, Field Enablement and other subject matter experts to assess global internal communications needs and create content/programs that ultimately drive business results.
Ensure high-quality and effective execution and delivery of content/programs – measure effectiveness and iterate as needed.
Collaborate with GMNS leads, as needed, on large scale internal programming.
Degree in Business, Marketing or Communications
Minimum 5 years of experience in communications – with experience in both internal and external, a plus
Proven content creation (writing / editing) and communication skills – with track record of followership
Demonstrated ability to think creatively about work and transform communications into engaging experiences using social tools, video and other media
Strong PowerPoint and graphic design skills with experience creating engaging presentations and infographics
Knowledge in colleague and executive communications management, change management
Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and external partners
Track record of managing multiple projects at once in a high pressure environment
Fluent user of social media and experience working with enterprise social networking tools
Enthusiastic, fun, flexible and demonstrates a willingness to learn
