American Express Director, US Investment Optimization & Global Strategy in New York, New York
The US Investment Optimization & Global Strategy team, which sits within Corporate Planning, is responsible for maximizing the returns of $2B in acquisition investments across both Consumer and Commercial. In addition, the team influences and shapes the future of AXP investment optimization through strategy that joins ideas and analytics with technology.
The successful candidate will partner with senior leaders across Marketing, Risk, Finance and Technology to ensure we are maximizing, tracking and understanding returns across Consumer and Commercial and across different acquisition channels, business segments and products.

Develop and lead a newly formed team of highly talented individuals
Own customer behaviors for investment return models which is comprised of actual and forecasted behaviors
Develop and implement investment strategy, specifically around account-level actualization and related use-cases
Use technology to improve forecasts and produce investment insights; leverage visualization and reporting tools
Understand and leverage changes in AXP data and technology that can be used to further optimize our investment process
Partner across Finance, Risk and Marketing to derive strategic insights, provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence investment strategy
Knowledge of the AXP investment optimization ecosystem and an analytical mindset to solve problems
Significant hands-on experience managing/ leading projects using large amounts of data
Proficiency in programing (e.g. SQL, Hive, Python, etc.) as well as AMEX data environments (eg Cornerstone)
Experience leading technical colleagues is a plus
Power BI, Tableau or other visualization tools experience is a plus
Proven self-starter with a track record of designing and implementing change
Ability to work on ambiguous projects that require the capability to break down and execute on complex ideas
Be data-driven, outcome-focused and a fast learner
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
Ability to influence people across all levels of the Enterprise
Ability to explain complex investment concepts
Ability to solve ad-hoc business problems independently and manage multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines
