The role of Associate Director, New Products and Pipeline Communications, is a unique opportunity to join our Company, as a key member of the Vaccines Communications team. The role is dedicated to promoting day-to-day communications – including external and employee communications -- related to our Company’s new products and pipeline vaccines and our pneumococcal vaccines portfolio. The candidate selected for this role will work under the guidance of the Director, Vaccines New Products and Pipeline Communications in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Promote and/or own with guidance from Director the development of compelling communication strategies and materials supporting a wide array of situational outcomes and market events related to our vaccines pipeline and pneumococcal vaccines portfolio.

  • Assist in managing the new vaccines products and pneumococcal team in communications initiatives and plans in support of US and global medical conferences, unbranded and branded initiatives, regulatory milestones and issues management while overseeing a public relations agency and help manage related budgets for responsible areas of business.

  • Participate and manage the promotional review process for appropriate materials in support of the vaccines pipeline and pneumococcal vaccines portfolio and support for other areas within vaccines communications

  • Assist in managing requests from cross functional colleagues on a wide array of issues and provide ongoing counsel in rapid fashion and in concert with the Director

  • Work with corporate and content teams towards integration of our vaccines pipeline and pneumococcal portfolio positioning into our corporate communications strategies and channels.

  • Monitor the environment and stay up to date on trends in consumer engagement, digital activation and media to identify opportunities identify the best opportunities to position the vaccine pipeline while also having an ear to the ground on emerging issues

  • Continually evaluate customer needs and alert team management to gaps and/or opportunities.

  • Understand and effectively navigate product review team process - Sharing insights and counsel on processes improvement.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.

  • 5 years of experience in public relations/communications and working with business leaders


  • 5 years’ experience in a communications or public relations role within the pharmaceutical or a related industry (hospital, public health, etc.)

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills across a variety of mediums/channels (e.g., print, digital, presentation).

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and participating priorities.

  • Ability to operate rapidly in a matrixed environment while working objectively across a variety of teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work horizontally and be flexible when needed

  • Team player, collaborative spirit, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-visibility role.

  • Multichannel communications experience
