The Hershey Company Customer Sales Executive, Kroger Snacks & Grocery in Ohio

Job Location: Cincinnati, OH

This position is remote based in our sales office Kenwood, OH

  • Summary*

The Kroger GO Customer Sales Executive (CSE) is responsible for profitably growing Kroger and Hershey’s business to achieve objectives and plans, including net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin across our Take Home and Grocery businesses. Responsibilities for Take Home include partnering with our lead Take Home CSE in developing sales plan presentations, communicating promotional updates to our Divisional CSEs, building priorities for our Retail partners, assisting with new item forms and contract submissions, and becoming the lead point of contact for our $40M summer season. For the Grocery business, responsibilities include strategically building annual plans, volume estimating and P&L accountability in PlanEx, creating valued partnerships with key internal/external contacts, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements through skilled negotiation and understanding of the business. The CSE will also play sales point for the Digital business at Kroger, becoming our local subject matter expert, uncovering opportunities, and sharing best demonstrated practices across the channel.

  • Responsibilities*

  • Achieve net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin targets for Kroger by simulating and planning incremental volume, pre and post analysis, and displaying core competencies and behaviors. This includes judiciously managing trade funds (maintaining compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley policies) to achieve profitable sales growth.

  • Effectively utilize Hershey’s and Kroger’s analytical tools (ie: PlanEx, IRI, Market 6, Tableau, Stratum, etc.) to drive value-added, predictable sales results.

  • Create annual merch plans and manage PlanEx for $30M Grocery business, operating against trade budget, resolving post-audits, and controlling waste

  • Conduct line reviews, partnering with home office to develop insights and share growth strategies

  • Achieve appropriate levels of customer account penetration

  • Partner with lead Take Home CSE in developing presentations, providing updates to Divisional CSEs, building priorities for Retail, and assisting with new item forms and contract submissions

  • Play point on $40M Summer season: refining strategies, gathering information, navigating internal processes, selling to Kroger, etc.

  • Become Sales lead for Digital at Kroger, connecting with Food partners to scale successes across the channel

  • Maintain alignment with Category Management counterparts on all aspects of the business

  • Work collaboratively with all cross functional partners inclusive of Omni Marketing, Shopper Insights, Sales Planning, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand Teams

  • Qualifications*

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: At least 5-6 years relevant experience
