Lockheed Martin ESS Supply Chain Quality Engineer in Orlando, Florida

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage Complexity II Major Subcontracts on the eCASS and LM STAR programs. The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support customers and suppliers across the United States. Duties include:

Testing high fidelity test stations and racks to include supporting troubleshooting down to component level

Manage several subcontracts and suppliers on several levels to the project/program schedule, cost, and technical requirements

Drive down floor and test defects with suppliers strategically providing long-term solutions

Provide electronics and mechanical system expertise to the program IPT

Act as the lead LM point of contact at supplier sites identifying and mitigating supplier risks and providing creative solutions to problems

Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards

Perform analysis and use data analytics to implement supplier countermeasures and drive performance improvement

Participate in source selection and supplier competition activities to evaluate total value to business

Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests

Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities

Implement supplier development, recovery, standard work used to develop suppliers to perform at World Class levels

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities

Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents providing written weekly reports and interfacing with Senior Level Management

Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering and supplier management matters

Technical liaison between suppliers and program

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis

Basic Qualifications:

Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent

SAP P2P and COS MRP/procurement systems

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance

Level III Expert in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Strong understanding of engineering requirements management

Strong understanding of production operations, planning, and priorities

High energy, self-starting, team player who achieves goals and delivers results

Presentation skills: PowerPoint, supporting documentation, verbal communication, facilitation, leadership

Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action at all level in the product lifecycle

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems

Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods and design

Tactical position requiring ability to travel with short notice

Strong skill in managing and interfacing with suppliers on a daily bases to support the Program

Ability to certify/approve a supplier to perform specified processes

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions

Must have knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities

Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts Management Team and Customer Government Representatives

Desired Skills:

LM EPDM system

Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering

ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)

Experience with working with suppliers and US Military customers in a dynamic environment

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

RF system theory and understanding of integration challenges/risks

Experience with military test and support equipment

Experience with system design validation, source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers to the SSOW

Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems

Knowledge of Reduced Dimension Drawings and 3D Model change control

Experience with reviewing SDRLs; generating and preparing CDRL document deliverables

Problem solving skills at a highly refined level

Skilled in supplier recovery, tools, and development activity with experience in Subtier Management, Cellular Manufacturing, 5S, equipment utilization rates, Kaizen events, Industrial Engineering, FIFO, Risk-Based Assessments, Lean, Configuration Management, Change Control, Requirements Management and waste reduction
