Oviedo Medical Center, the new 64-bed acute care hospital, provides a full range of healthcare services to east Seminole County and surrounding communities. Services include medical and surgical inpatient units, intensive care, medical cardiology, telemetry, cardiac catheterization, inpatient and outpatient surgery, women’s services including labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary services, comprehensive diagnostic imaging and 24/7 emergency care. Oviedo Medical Center is designed with the patient in mind with personalized care, all private rooms and the newest medical technology available. Oviedo Medical Center is located at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Road and State Road 426.

Oviedo Medical Center is currently seeking a Cardiovascular Technician RCIS to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. This position will be Part-Time on the Day shift and will have rotating weekend requirements.

Position Description:

The Cardiovascular Technician RCIS tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assists with both pre, intra, and post cath patient care including transports, setting up sterile fields, prepping patients for procedures, circulating during procedures and operation of monitoring equipment as needed. * Remains aware of any changes in patient’s condition, performs reassessments and implementation of the patient’s Plan of Care in accordance with the department/hospital standard. * Evaluates patient’s response to Plan of Care, communicates to members of the health care team and implements necessary changes to care. * Demonstrates knowledge of all aspects of circulating, recording and scrubbing during Cardiac Cath procedures. Works as a facilitator between physician and staff to increase the efficiency and operating capabilities of the department/hospital. * Records relevant data on patient record to provide an accurate reflection of the patient care received. Able to set up and successfully record right and left hear pressures, recognizes pressures by waveform, analyzes and records values on patient chart. * Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience. * Contributes to culture of patient centered care by ensuring and quiet healing environment. * Helps manage pain through communication with patient and RN/ChargeRN/LPN. Immediately notifies RN/Charge RN/LPN if patient expresses or appears in pain. * Communicates and interacts with patients, families and others in a caring, empathetic, courteous and respectful manner.

*Position Qualifications: * * High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology and/or RCIS certification or ARRT certification. * Two years experience in licensed field and one year cardiac cath lab experience. * ARRT Certification or RCIS Registry or equivalent Supporting documentation for RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist). * Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; or BLS/ACLS Instructor through America Heart Association
* Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required. * Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
