JOB SUMMARY:
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician identifies opportunities and participates in performance improvement activities as directed. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for meeting JC standards, complying with all state and federal regulations, complying with corporate and hospital policy and procedures, managing supplies and equipment, promoting teamwork with pharmacists and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and strives for appropriate resource management. Pharmacy technicians must be registered and certified.
QUALIFICATIONS: * 1-2 years hospital experience preferred or graduate of vocational Pharmacy Technician program * Florida registered pharmacy technician, PTCB pharmacy technician certified, or must obtain PTCB certification within 6 months. * Excellent math skills
