Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Tool Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA . The Tool Engineer will be a motivated project lead and team player to implement and assist major tooling operations for the assembly line. Typical candidate has a background/experience/education in project management for small and large projects in the manufacturing/mechanical engineering field and coordinating major events that rely on strong planning, leadership and great communication. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.
Minimum Education/Experience requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Mathematical);OR
Bachelor's Degree (non-STEM) with 2 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations; OR
Associates Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of work experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to work 1st shift "5am-3:30pm" or 2nd shift "4:12pm-2:42am" and any work schedule (times may vary)
STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical)
Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
Direct Experience with Catia and or NX or some CAD
Ability to Read/understand blueprints/GD&T in accordance with ASME 14.5
Current active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years.
