United States Steel Engineering Schedule Specialist IV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

10785BRJob Description:This position performs Scheduling related Project Control activities and/or supervises the preparation of Scheduling Project Controls activities for a project, portfolio of projects, or other assignments. This role will serve as the Scheduling Subject Manager Expert (SME) for the US Steel Engineering Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop &/or supervise the development of integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) schedules for various projects or assignments

• Analyze schedules, review delays, propose schedule recovery alternatives and presents them to internal Project Teams

• Analyze variances in schedule performance against the plan and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Teams

• Complete understanding of Earned Value and Project Productivity

• Assist &/or provide guidance to Project Teams during the Project Development Process

• Ability to interface with internal stakeholders

• Ability to interface with external stakeholders including but not limited to engineering firms, equipment vendors, & construction contractors

• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.

• Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software

• Attend project meetings with the Project Management Team

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED:

• Accredited four (4) year degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, or finance

• 10 years of professional experience related to Schedule Management specifically within the Industrial engineering & construction industries

• Ability to interface with internal stakeholders

• Ability to interface with external stakeholders including but not limited to engineering firms, equipment vendors, & construction contractors

• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
