Our location in Pomona, CA currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering . This leadership position is directly responsible for overseeing and managing daily production shift operations in support of manufacturing goals and company objectives. This role will provide technical leadership to the support of manufacturing operations, bringing rigor in the use of facts, data, and processes to driving day-to-day execution and continuous improvement.


  • Manufacturing strategic leader. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors

  • May lead or recommend analysis and research of new business practices or approaches

  • Responsible for planning and directing all aspects of engineering activities related to assigned projects

  • Assigns tasks and monitors the completion in accordance with time/cost/quality expectations. Delegates tasks appropriately to direct reports.

  • Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives

  • Proactively anticipates framework and infrastructure requirements

  • Demonstrate leadership characteristics to move the organization toward long-term business goals

  • Functions as the highest level of technical resource

  • Resolves and consults on most complex issues and drives solutions

  • Leads the technical staff to monitor and improve manufacturing performance metrics such as yield, cycle time, unit cost, OEE, UPPH, and others.

  • Leads with a sense of urgency in the resolution of manufacturing issues.

  • Owns the equipment maintenance function for site operations including associated procedures, data analysis and metrics.

  • Drives the implementation of product/material/process improvement projects including coordination with other functional teams. Meets CIP commitments.

  • Represents the ME function in management reviews and updates. Able to adjust messaging to the appropriate level of detail.

  • Supports site quality and compliance objectives. Ensure CAPA and non-conformance activities owned by the ME department meet commitments and QMS requirements. May represent ME function in regulatory audits/inspections as SME. Ensures staff meets personal QMS training objectives.

  • Supports site EH&S objectives.

  • Manages performance of staff towards department and Company goals, including feedback on performance, appraisals, recommendations for merit increases or necessary disciplinary actions, communication to employees on performance, etc.

  • Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification, and validation, manufacturing, and testing activities

  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships

  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies

  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business



  • BS in Engineering, Life Science or Scientific field

  • Five to seven years experience in manufacturing

  • 5+ years of related experience in medical devices


  • Advanced knowledge of federal and other regulations governing medical device assembly and design, e.g. GMP, QSR, ISO, and CMDR

  • Recognized expert in multiple technological fields of specialization

  • Strong knowledge of machine function, mechanical /electrical, or software engineering

  • Typical computer application includes Solid Works, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and Project. May include Lab View, PLC, and other specialty machine and vision SW.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Previous management experience

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification

  • PMP certified
