Job Description

The Health Systems Oncology Medical Affairs Director (HSO MAD), Regional is a therapeutic, disease, population health and health systems expert who develops on-going professional relationships with healthcare decision makers across key payer and provider organizations (e.g., health plans, PBMs, IDN, Medicaid, employers and employer coalitions, pathway organizations, group purchasing organizations, large health systems).

The HSO MAD, Regional provides accurate information across the full product portfolio, science, real-world evidence, and quality management in a balanced and credible manner consistent with the regulatory environment and the company’s ethical standards. Through a deep understanding of the accounts’ population health strategies, serves as the medical account lead, collaborating and coordinating with other Medical Affairs colleagues and select commercial roles, to bring relevant health care solutions to their assigned accounts.

  • Advanced healthcare/science doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.)

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in a field-based medical affairs role exclusively in oncology working with regional and/or national payers, integrated delivery systems, oncology pathways, or scientific leaders OR 7+ years of clinical experience working within a cancer center OR 4+ years of clinical experience working within a cancer center with Board Certification in Oncology (e.g. BCOP).

  • Experience in organized healthcare system, including ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with key decision makers

  • Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, US health care delivery system structure and function, pharmacoeconomics, disease management, quality management, value-based payment and health care delivery policy and trends

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to network, strong personal integrity, collaborative mindset, and a strong customer focus

  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment, and have demonstrated project leadership abilities

  • Thorough understanding of ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry

Preferred:

  • Formal training in health economics and/or outcomes research or real-world evidence generation

  • Oncology residency training and/or board certified in oncology
