Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Director 1 - Communication Systems & Mission Payload Center to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA, and reports to the Director of Systems Engineering.
In this role, you will be:
Responsible for leading and shaping a dynamic 350-member organization to ensure excellence in program level system engineering across SSSD.
A key member of the system engineering leadership team, the Center Director supervises 3 departments and multiple senior center staff with technical expertise in communications systems, mission engineering, modeling/ simulation, and payloads and sensors
Responsible for managing integrated systems engineering recruiting, employee development, employee engagement, performance management, program staffing, process and product development, and participating in project and proposal reviews
Lead and influence Directorate-wide System Engineering strategic initiatives to enhance sector performance (e.g. Digital Transformation)
As the Director, you are the process owner for the integrated systems engineering processes and is responsible for process refinement and implementation across the division.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (STEM) discipline; minimum 5 years of prior management or team lead experience; 10 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
Proven technical management experience in Communication Systems and/or Systems Engineering
Previous IPT, SEIT Lead or Program Management experience
Active Top Secret and/or SSBI and/or SCI clearance, with an ability to obtain a SAP clearance
Experience in functional management
Master's Degree in Engineering with emphasis in Communication Systems, Signal Processing, and/or Mission Engineering
