Product Training Manager

This position is the National Trainer for Schlage Locks, Cylinders, & Key Systems. It is responsible for delivering training to Allegion customers and Allegion Sales on the assigned Allegion product portfolio. The role will work closely with Sales, Field Marketing, Product Management, and others on the Training Team to provide learning solutions that meet the needs of the target audiences and that provide best-in-class learner experiences. This position reports to the Field Training Manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide in-person and virtual training to customers and sales

  • Maintain expertise on the assigned Allegion portfolio, its primary competitors, and the broader market conditions and dynamics

  • Continually seek out the unmet learning needs of target audiences, offer suggestions to improve training materials, and look for opportunities to reach more target customers

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and an advocate for the target learners when collaborating on the development of training programs and other initiatives. Provide timely and clear input to the instructional designer

  • Communicate to your manager on the status, effectiveness, and roadmap of the assigned training programs

  • Share best practices and processes with the Training Team

  • Effectively manage resources, including travel budgets and class materials. Convey to manager any material or equipment needs

  • Deepen your expertise and insights in the architectural hardware and access control industries

  • Develop and/or strengthen relationships with the Allegion Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams

  • Experience the intrinsic rewards that come with helping others become more skilled in their professions

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Proficiency in delivering technical training using learner-focused activities (in other words, very little lecture) for a broad range of audiences

  • At least 10 years’ experience in working with access control or architectural hardware products

  • Four-year degree in business, engineering, education, communications, or other related program of study preferred

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills, both in-person and virtually

  • Experience managing classroom groups of up to 30 students, and facilitating breakout and group activities

  • Business acumen and learning agility are highly desired

  • An aptitude for listening closely, deciphering questions, and refraining from making assumptions before responding to learner questions

  • The confidence and disposition to work somewhat independently while collaborating virtually with many

  • Ability to travel up to three weeks out of every four in the Americas.

  • Prefer candidate to live in close proximity to a large metro airport.

  • Ability to lift cases of 60 pounds

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $70,700 – $131,300. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
