Reston Hospital Center is a 231-bed hospital offering a full range of medical services, including 24-hour emergency care, specializing in maternal/child health, surgical services, urological services, cancer care with state-of-the-art radiation therapy, rehabilitation therapy programs and a wide array of diagnostic imaging capabilities. Reston Hospital Center is a certified Stroke Center, certified Total Joint Center and the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Northern Virginia, as well as the only Hospital in Northern Virginia to receive Joint Commission designation as a Top Performer on Key Quality measures for three consecutive years.. *What would you do in this role? *

a. Serves as immediate supervisor for all staff within modality.

b. Establishes priorities, delegates responsibility and effectively utilizes department time, personnel and equipment within the imaging modality.

c. Communicates appropriate information from leadership meetings and department administrative team to all modality staff in timely and positive manner.

d. Responsible for staffing all shifts in modality to include on-call coverage. Provides monthly work schedule to Department Administrative team.

e. Serves as preceptor for new technologists; schedules and documents department orientation and initial competency.

f. Maintains effective education program that is relevant to current equipment, technology and protocols for imaging modality.

g. Assures appropriate initial and annual competency is completed for all modality employees in timely manner.

h. Schedules and completes timely new hire stay interviews (30,60,90) with Director/Asst. Director.

i. Performs employee reviews (PMPs) for modality under direction of Department Director/ Asst. Director. (90 day, mid- term, annual)

j. Responsible for coordinating work schedules to ensure all modality staff have the same opportunity to attend monthly meetings.

k. Responsible for typing and distributing modality meeting minutes; serves as meeting leader/facilitator along with Director/Asst. Director.

l. Reviews resumes and coordinates interviews with Director and Asst. Director. Arranges interview time with HR to assure appropriate staff, administrative and physician representation is available.

m. Under the direction of the supervising physician and the department administrative team, accepts responsibility for completing ACR applications, submitting required images and data in timely manner to achieve accreditation for all equipment within imaging modality.

n. Ensures all regulatory standards are met and imaging modality is in compliance with State, Federal and JCAHO (CMS) regulations.

o. Enters timely work orders for repairs in modality.

p. Enters special supply orders in GHX for approval.

q. Responsible for maintaining appropriate supply inventory levels in accordance with hospital and corporate agreements.

r. Responsible for ensuring employee timesheets are completed and are available for daily approval in Kronos by timekeeper. Calculates/approves on-call hours, OT and reports to department timekeeper.

s. Works with Department Director/Assistant Director to approve leave requests in fair and timely manner, consistent with HR and Department policy.

t. Verifies modality supply invoices for approval.

u. Ensures all modality team members follow the hospital mission and adhere to the I.C.A.R.E. values for service excellence when providing imaging services and interacting with co-workers, leadership and physicians.

Qualifications - External

Education: Graduate of an AMA approved program.

Certification/Licensure: Registered with ARRT in Radiography and CT. BCLS Required.

Experience: Ability to perform CT procedures following accepted standards and protocols.
