Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Developer will be responsible for Splunk dashboard and report development tailored for alerting and operational efficiency for end users. Developer must be proficient with recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data. This role will work closely with architect and partner support team, engineering and operations leads. Provide analysis and implementation support for development team for new capabilities. The Splunk Developer will also provide engineering and administration in supporting a very large distributed clustered Splunk environment consisting of search heads, indexers, deployers, deployment servers, heavy/universal forwarders and Splunk Enterprise Security premium app, spanning security, performance, and operational roles. Improve system efficiency and stability via the development of automation tools and scripts.

Develop dashboard and advanced SPL queries Work with Infra Operations team to standardize Splunk as Logging/Monitoring and Alerting system Supports troubleshooting of system and application related problems New log and data on boarding Exploration of alternative logging solutions/technologies Apply tuning recommendations Reporting used for troubleshooting, Audit and problem resolution Tuning of SPL Participate in requirements gathering and supporting operational teams Deploy new capabilities and Splunk apps

Required Skills:

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred

Knowledge of network operations and security operations management responsibilities, network Firewalls, Load balancers, and complex network designs

Machine Learning Toolkit experience Experience in a high volume Splunk environment Streaming data solutions – Kafka Git and CI/CD experience Infrastructure as Code

Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Familiar with development and testing practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); Analyzes test reports, identifies any test issues/errors; Triages the underlying cause. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes.
